Katz knives

Keith Derkatz is the founder and President of Katz Knives Inc. The company was formed in 1991, to design and implement high quality knives, axes and accessories, All the knives are designed by Keith personally and contracted out, to high quality manufacturers in Japan and Spain.

The Camillus Cutlery Company is one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States. The Company was founded in 1876 and produced millions of knives until it filed for bankruptcy in 2007.

There are only three knives that are crucial in a kitchen: a chef's knife, a paring knife and a serrated knife. Any other knives are a luxury--they can make cooking easier and more enjoyable, but are unnecessary. A chef's knife (sometimes called a cook's knife) is the most important knife to have in your kitchen.

Although not publicly endorsed on the show, we have seen evidence that Gordon has used knives made by Henckels and Wüsthof. Both brands are 'house' names in the culinary industry, known as leading knife manufacturers worldwide.
